KNITWEAR
Jumpers, cardigans and slouchy knitted dresses are all on the up in our customers carts. This rings especially true for cashmere and chunky knits which are a strong favourite for WFH, a quick walk around your local park or a zoom drink.
LAIDBACK LUXE
Midi and maxi day dresses and skirts are the hemline choice of the moment. Sticking with the theme of comfort, these styles are far less high maintenance but give off an air of effortless cool.
BUSINESS ON TOP, PJs ON BOTTOM
With many of us stuck working from home, it's safe to say we've mastered the art of looking presentable above the waistline and in our webcam's view. Blazers are still a strong seller and an easy piece to throw on and disguise whatever loungewear you're donning underneath. Silk tops are also on the up for those who like a touch of casual luxury throughout the day.
70s SILHOUETTES
Think colourful corduroy and flattering high-waisted wide legged denim.
ANIMAL FRIENDLY FABRICS
Vegan leather and faux fur are also highly sought after with brands like Stella McCartney, Veja and Ganni all leading charge in this department. Gone are the days of noisy unappealing PU and scratchy fake animal fur. The designer imitation offerings are virtually incomparable to the real thing and many customers feel the same.
ACCESSORIES TIME TO SHINE
Whilst our outfits have gone more casual, statement jewellery and trophy bags still remain popular and garner high resale prices. Buyers have not abandoned their desires for an 'IT bag' - monogram, brand specific hardware and coveted silhouettes like the Chanel boy bag, the Dior Book Tote and the Louis Vuitton Speedy are all on the up.
FLAT SOCIAL LIFE, FLAT SHOES
Flats have been a trend pre-pandemic but continue to remain firmly in place as we all opt for comfort over flair. Designer trainers provide a fashion fix, without being too taxing to wear whether that's a superbrand like Balenciaga or a niche favourite such as Golden Goose Deluxe Brand. For those who prefer a dressier approach, both ankle and knee boots are a great choice in either a flat or small block heel style.
GIFTING FROM AFAR
Being separated from our loved ones lockdown after lockdown has meant showing friendship and affection in other ways. Giftable pieces such as silk scarves, leather wallets and jewellery are all on the up.
LEGS ON SHOW
Mini skirts and dresses are no longer as favoured as they were last decade and also having little impact on the resale market. Restrictive skinny jeans are also on the outs in favour of looser fitting denim.
DRY CLEAN ONLY
It's the age of ease and sending your clothes out to get cleaned in the middle of a pandemic is not high on anyone's priority list. Our customers are opting for machine washable DIY cleaning for their current sartorial purchases.
GLITZ, GLAMOUR & GOING OUT
Sadly bars, clubs and parties are off our schedule for the moment so that also means the demand for high heels, glitzy cocktail dresses and sharp tailored suits is considerably lower. We hope occasion wear will make a big return but for the moment they're not on many shopping lists.
REAL FUR
Furs and shearling, once the epitome of luxury and garnering sky high prices are now declining in appeal. With the introduction of aforementioned animal friendly alternatives, a high uptake in veganism and organisations like the BFC pushing for fur free fashion weeks, minks, astrakhans and fox are not the resale hits they once were.
BLACK ATTIRE
We've noticed that fashion's previous favourite 'colour' is losing popularity with our buyers opting for brighter shades or a sophisticated navy.
